OVERVIEW
Tatjana spent her childhood in a small mid-European town overlooking the river Danube. Her life was filled with reading and drawing from her imagination. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering which led to a career in Canadian hi-tech industry.
?Intensive training at the Vancouver Art Academy opened up the art world to her. She became a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 2002 and earned signature status of AFCA in 2005. In the same year she was elected a Senior Member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists.
?In her work, Mirkov-Popovicki explores the world of timeless values, the beauty of the human body and the landscape of the face. Her technique involve hundreds of thin layers of graphite, crayon or watercolor. Only natural materials are used - earthy pigments, rag paper, crayon made from clay, charcoal and graphite. Her work has been exhibited and collected since 2002. She is currently represented by Lando Gallery in Edmonton, AB, Evans Gallery in Kelowna, BC and the Federation Gallery in Vancouver.
